REPORT ON NCTE VISIT

 

STET College of Education for Women, Sundarakkottai, Mannargudi was established in the year of 2004 – 2005 and it has stepped into its 12^th year majestically. In this academic year 2016- 2017, National Council for Teacher Education has visited our institute on 12.11.2016, under the NCTE Inspection act 13/14/15 of NCTE.

 

NCTE inspection team has assessed various infrastructural and instructional facilities as per the norms and standards prescribed by the NCTE.

 

A complete inspection of Teacher Education Programme has been carried out by the team of Dr.Neerja Dhankar from Uttarkhand and Dr.Rajni Joshi from New Delhi in the following aspects: Class rooms, Curriculum Resource Center with Science Laboratories (Physical Science & Biological Science), Mathematical kids, Social Science Resources, Language Lab, Art and work Experience Resource Center, Health and Physical Education rooms, Educational Toys room, Multipurpose Hall with Seating Capacity of 200. Other than that, Library Cum - Reading Resource Center, ICT Resource center, Administrative office, Principal Office, Common rooms, Canteen, Store rooms, Separate toilet facilities for men and women, Visitors room, Athletic tracks, Indoor and Outdoor games facilities and 55KVA generator were assessed by the visiting team members with all its relevant records and documents.

 

In addition to this, the team members had appraised and surprised about the various        co-curricular activities like Tailoring, Vocal music, Dancing, Performing Arts.

 

The visiting team also assessed the Principal, Teaching and Non-teaching staff member’s qualification approval details and the team found that all the staff possessed adequate qualification prescribed by NCTE, verified all the original certificates and other supporting documents of the teaching and non-teaching staff members.

 

The team’s assessment also includes various provisions of safe and purified drinking water facilities and fire extinguisher at each floor and lift facilities of the institution’s building.

 

 In fine, the NCTE visiting team left the institution with full satisfaction on the infrastructure and instructional facilities available in the institution.
